-she giggles- Well, that’s usually what everyone says. I don’t think I caught your name; I’m Rosetta. -she smiles-
Sabor.
-she narrows her eyes-
Mother always told me nature controlled the seasons. How am I supposed to believe that you aren’t just a talking dragonfly?
Hmm..-She puts a hand to her chin in thought before snapping her fingers- Ah! -she lowers herself to stand on the ground- This has just enough water and sunlight.. -Rosetta raises her arms at the ground and two African daises rise from the ground.- See now? My other fairy friends provide the water and sunlight, an’ I make the flowers, grass, an’ trees grow!
-she brushes her skirt and lowers- Y’see, a fairy is a magical creature that’s born from a baby’s first laugh. We fly around and make the seasons change! -she flies to one side of Sabor, leaving a small trail of pixie dust-
-she blinks-
….
And I thought I’ve heard it all. -the pixie dust lands on her nose and she sneezes- Sounds like a bunch of ludicrous to me.
-she giggles- Well, that’s usually what everyone says. I don’t think I caught your name; I’m Rosetta. -she smiles-
-flies higher- Hey now! S-stop that an’ I’ll tell ya what a fairy is!
-she stops and sits, her tail twitching from side to side-
I’m listening.
-she brushes her skirt and lowers- Y’see, a fairy is a magical creature that’s born from a baby’s first laugh. We fly around and make the seasons change! -she flies to one side of Sabor, leaving a small trail of pixie dust-
-She barely dodges the paw- H-hey! I’m not a dragonfly! I’m a fairy! An’ don’t swat at me!
-she stops and cocks her head-
Fairy? What on Earth is that? -she attempts to catch Rosetta in her paws, leaping into the air-
-flies higher- Hey now! S-stop that an’ I’ll tell ya what a fairy is!
Well, you’re certainly an odd looking dragonfly.
But, none the less, you’re mine!-she swatted the fairy, determined to catch it-
-She barely dodges the paw- H-hey! I’m not a dragonfly! I’m a fairy! An’ don’t swat at me!
“Why thank you,” she smiled. Rosetta’s eyes widened, “So you’re a goddess? Wow!” The fairy flew to the side of Aphrodite’s head to continue their conversation. “So you can make people fall in love? That must be wonderful.” Rosetta took a better look at Aphrodite’s clothes. “It’s good to know that goddesses know what to wear,” the garden fairy smiled.
Aph nodded, smiling widely at Rosetta. Filled with pride, she sat up straighter admiring her own outfit as she listened. “You really think so?” batting her eyelashes, she waved her hand dismissively, “Well, thanks honey! Your outfit it lovely, as well! How do you find such small dresses anyway? I have trouble looking for myself already! And that’s because I’m tall!” chuckling she prodded at her outfit, picking off little bits of dirt she had gotten on the trek here. “Yeesh! How do you manage to stay so clean?”
“Well,” Rosetta began, “The fairies at Pixie Hollow use what’s around us for clothes an’ houses. Most of our clothes are made of petals an’ leaves. Some clothes can be made of spider silk, but it’s hard to fabricate.” She looked down at herself at the question of staying clean. “Well, I manage to avoid dirt and mud, I guess..Are there more of you? Gods and Goddesses, I mean..”
“Huh. I’ll have to take lessons from you; all this mud is getting under my nails! Ew,” she finished the thought, only to dig under her nails in the hopes of removing the dirt and grime. Soon seeing she was ignoring Rosetta’s question, she quickly resumed conversation, “Oh yes, lots and lots! We all have our little jobs. It’s a rather big family so personal space is almost impossible to find… Nonetheless, it’s fun,”
Rosetta grimanced. “Ugh, I hate gettin’ dirt under my nails!” she commented. The garden fairy talked again after Aphrodite answered her question. “That kinda sounds like how it is in Pixie Hollow,” Rosetta replied,”Each of us have our own responsibilities in changin’ the seasons. An’ sometimes it’s hard to find a place to be alone in Pixie Hollow because it’s so busy; y’ just hafta look hard enough!” She smiled.
Aph nodded, still a little distracted by the natural beauty of the area. Breaking through the trance, she looked back at Rosetta again, “That’s much the same way the other gods and I work. Though we don’t all work with nature — you seem to have that covered!” chuckling a little, she figured she’s demonstrate.
Might as well brag while you can.Twirling her finger, she let little hearts sparkle then fall, “I am the Goddess of love and beauty!” she cooed while posing proudly, “Well, and some other things too. But those are the biggies,”“Why thank you,” she smiled. Rosetta’s eyes widened, “So you’re a goddess? “Well, not really.. I can’t take all the credit for myself,” Rosetta replied,”My friends helped too! We kind of a team. I plant them, Silvermist gives them water, Iridessa gives them sunlight, an’ then I make ‘em grow!” The garden fairy gestured to the scenery around them.
“It did take a while and a lot of preparing, though,” Rosetta continued, “We’ve been preparing for spring all year!”

“Oh no, hun. You weren’t in my way at all!” Rosetta looked flew to be at shoulder level of the new person. Aphrodite didn’t look like the other humans Rosetta’s greeted. Maybe she was a magical creature like Titania? The fairy wasn’t sure, but she did know one thing: Aphrodite has good taste in clothes.
“That’s a pretty name ya have. I’m Rosetta!” she replied.
“Oh, I’m glad to hear that. I’d feel terrible if I messed with your work,” she nodded, taking in the scenery, “Thank you, darling. Your name is beautiful as well! Now, if you don’t mind me asking, what is it you were doing it exactly? Are you really the one who planted all of this?” she raised an eyebrow while plopping herself on the ground, “If you did it must have taken a lot of effort, yes?” she smiled. What a cute little… little… well, whatever Rosetta was she was cute and little.

She flew through the park, leaving a temporary trail of pixie dust in the air. A few little bulbs were following her, pitter-pattering about on the ground. The garden fairy gracefully landed on the ground. “Alright, y’all, you know the drill!”
Rosetta pointed to an area and made a circle. “Right here!” she said. The little bulbs ran to their spots and buried themselves into the ground. She gave a thumbs up, “Perfect, now all you’ll need is some water an’—” The pink fairy heard a rustle behind her. She turned around while saying, “Um, hello..?”
It felt like eons since Aphrodite had any time to herself. There was always something to plan, a place to be, or someone in desperate need of a makeover. Now that spring was here, and her schedule cleared, how could she ignore the chance to wear her new outfits for the season? Dress, shoes, and all, Aph made her way through the trees and bushes — certainly there’d some blooming flowers to admire nearby, right?
Striding through the brush a bit awkwardly to avoid tearing her dress, she heard a little voice. Ignoring it at first, she ducked to enter a slightly larger clearing. “Much better! No more breaking my nails!” The voice repeated, this time with a greeting. Now positive there was someone around, she hunched over and waved, “I’m very sorry; I didn’t mean to get in your way. Hello, I’m Aphrodite,”
“Oh no, hun. You weren’t in my way at all!” Rosetta looked flew to be at shoulder level of the new person. Aphrodite didn’t look like the other humans Rosetta’s greeted.
